30/06/2022 (Agence Europe) – The Prague Summit, which will bring together the leaders of the European Union and third European countries wishing to join the European Political Community (see EUROPE 12979/4), will take place on Thursday 6 and Friday 7 October. The Czech Republic, which will host the meeting as part of its six-month rotating Presidency of the EU Council, had already been thinking about organising a forum involving the countries concerned before French President Emmanuel Macron unveiled his idea for the forum in Strasbourg in early May. The idea of a summit in Prague on 1 July with US President Joe Biden was also raised. In order to leave room for debate, the Prague Summit may not be the subject of a final declaration, as the European Council may address the discussions held in Prague in its conclusions on Thursday 20 and Friday 21 October.
