21/06/2022 (Agence Europe) – The Council of the EU called, on Monday 20 June, for the establishment of a strategic partnership with the Gulf Cooperation Council and its member states. In its conclusions, the EU Council also stated that intensified and close cooperation between the EU and the Gulf countries is “a key priority” for the EU. It also highlighted a wide range of policy areas where a strategic partnership could be developed, such as climate change and ecological transition, energy security, human rights, people to people contacts and a strong response to global humanitarian and development needs and global and regional security challenges.
