14/06/2022 (Agence Europe) – Member States’ ambassadors to the European Union (Coreper) will be invited to vote on Wednesday 15 June on the agreement reached by the French Presidency of the Council of the EU and representatives of the European Parliament on the proposal for a directive aimed at increasing the presence of women on the boards of listed European companies (see EUROPE 12967/15). The agreed text provides that 40% of non-executive members of the boards of listed companies should be women. If Member States choose to apply the new rules to both executive and non-executive directors, the target would be 33% of all director positions by 2026.
