14/06/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 13 June, the EU condemned the deadly attack in Seytenga, in the north of Burkina Faso, “which is said to have caused more than a hundred civilian victims” on the night of 12 to 13 June. “The EU is all the more shocked that the method used by the terrorist group that carried out the attack, namely the systematic execution of anyone encountered in the village, is appalling”, EU High Representative Josep Borrell said in a statement issued on behalf of the EU27. Calling for “light to be shed on the circumstances of this killing”, he added that the EU remained “ready to consider strengthening its cooperation with the country”, while insisting on “rapid implementation of the strategic priorities of the transition and a credible prospect of a return to constitutional order”.
