European Parliament votes to extend ETS to emissions from flights to non-EU countries

Meeting in Strasbourg for a plenary session of the European Parliament focused on the ‘Fit for 55 package’, MEPs adopted by a large majority (479 votes in favour, 130 against and 32 abstentions), on Wednesday 8 June, Sunčana Glavak’s draft report on extending the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) to emissions from all aircraft flights departing from an airport in the European Economic Area (EEA).
