02/06/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced on Thursday 2 June that it has reached an agreement with Moderna on the delivery of Covid-19 vaccine doses under an advance purchase agreement. The Commission wanted to adapt the delivery of vaccines to the absorption capacities of the Member States. Some vaccine deliveries originally scheduled for April, May and June 2022 will be postponed until the end of the year. Alternatively, and provided that these vaccines are granted conditional marketing authorisation, some doses could be delivered as booster doses tailored to the variants of concern. A similar agreement was reached with Pfizer-BioNTech on 13 May (see EUROPE 12952/24). (EV)
