The European Commission is making progress in the implementation of its Covid-19 Therapeutics Strategy.
On Monday 23 May, it published the Therapeutics Innovation Booster. It is a report written by independent experts proposing guidelines, selection criteria, tools and methodological elements to accelerate innovation and the development of promising new and repurposed Covid-19 treatments.
The report aims to facilitate the identification of promising research projects and technologies and their development phase.
This should allow to best target investments and the relevant support to take these treatments to the next stage of development. The work will be carried out in collaboration with stakeholders the European Medicines Agency (EMA), national competent authorities and the private sector.
In addition, the European Commission has published a call for tender to establish a European interactive mapping platform for innovative treatments by the Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority (HERA). (Original version in French by Émilie Vanderhulst)
