27/04/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 27 April, one hundred companies from the road transport sector, including Volvo and Air Liquide, sent a joint letter to EU Member States, asking them not to “water down” the Commission’s proposal for binding national targets for hydrogen refuelling infrastructure. The signatories of the letter call for “clear” targets for hydrogen refuelling stations, based on “sufficient geographical coverage and capacity” and an “ambitious but realistic timetable” in the context of the Regulation on the deployment of alternative fuel infrastructure (AFIR) (see EUROPE 12934/8). “AFIR’s targets for hydrogen refuelling stations are the bare minimum for hydrogen road mobility to develop and in turn contribute to decarbonising the sector”, commented Hydrogen Europe’s CEO, Jorgo Chatzimarkakis.
