27/04/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Council will hold an extraordinary meeting on Monday 30 and Tuesday 31 May in Brussels to discuss, among other things, defence issues and continue the implementation of the European response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In the meantime, the European Commission is invited to present in mid-May a gap analysis on defence investment and to make proposals to strengthen the European defence technological and industrial base (see EUROPE 12919/3). The holding of an extraordinary European summit on defence was announced when the priorities of the French Presidency of the EU Council were presented. (MB)
