27/04/2022 (Agence Europe) – Members of SMEunited’s Sustainability Committee discussed possible amendments to the Sustainable Products Regulation (see EUROPE 12922/1) in a discussion with the team leader responsible for sustainable production and products in the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Environment, according to a press release issued on Wednesday 27 April. In particular, Article 19 of the Regulation, which is dedicated to SMEs, was discussed. The Committee suggested the exclusion of tailor-made products from the scope of the Regulation, and stressed the need to financially support the participation of SMEs in meetings on the different product groups to ensure that the final results are adapted to their specificities.
