26/04/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission approved on Tuesday 26 April a Romanian scheme of 91 million euros for bovine, pig and poultry producers in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. The scheme was approved under the Temporary Framework for State aid. The public support in question will take the form of direct grants. The measure aims to alleviate the liquidity problems faced by beneficiaries and to compensate for part of the losses incurred. The scheme will be open to companies of all sizes active in the bovine, pig and poultry sectors. In addition, the Commission has approved a 45 million euros Belgian scheme to support companies active in the Brussels-Capital Region affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. This is a continuation of a similar Belgian support scheme that the Commission approved in October 2021. (LC)
