Brussels, 06/04/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 6 April, the national ambassadors of the Member States to the EU continued their discussions on the coordination of the reception of refugees from Ukraine in the EU and asked the European Commission, among other things, to launch the European information platform on refugee registrations as soon as possible, as requested by the Ministers for Home Affairs on 28 March (see EUROPE 12920/1). They wanted the tool prepared with the eu-LISA Agency - which will give them an idea of the number of refugees in each country - to be easy to use and not to burden national authorities, a source said. Several Member States also stressed the need to work on new funds to support the care of refugees. Member States again stressed the importance of carefully analysing the risks of exploitation of vulnerable refugees by criminal networks. (SP)
