Meeting of EU interior ministers scheduled for 28 March to take stock of situation of refugees from Ukraine

17/03/2022 (Agence Europe) – The French Presidency of the EU Council intends to convene a new meeting of the EU Council of Home Affairs Ministers on 28 March, two sources confirmed to EUROPE on Thursday 17 March. This meeting will focus on the care of Ukrainian refugees and implementation of the Temporary Protection Directive. Member States could use this opportunity to ask for support from their partners to help them deal with the more than 3 million refugees in the EU now. Currently, coordination is taking place within the IPCR and the solidarity platform set up by the European Commission, but no Member State has yet formally requested relocation of refugees from Ukraine.
