European Commission registers ECI to ban fur in EU

16/03/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission decided on Wednesday 16 March to register a European Citizens’ Initiative (ECI) entitled ‘Fur Free Europe’. The organisers of this initiative call on the European Commission to introduce an EU-wide ban on the farming and slaughter of animals for the purpose of fur production and to ban the marketing of fur and fur products in the EU.
