04/03/2022 (Agence Europe) – The Council of the European Union decided on Thursday 3 March to appoint a new Slovenian member to the European Court of Auditors. It also renewed the mandates of three current members of the Court from the Czech Republic, Latvia and Poland. Jorg Kristijan Petrovič, a member of the Slovenian Court of Audit since February 2013, has been appointed as a member of the ECA for the period from 7 May 2022 to 6 May 2028, replacing Samo Jereb. The EU Council reappointed three members of the Court: Jan Gregor (Czech Republic), Mihails Kozlovs (Latvia) and Marek Opioła (Poland). The European Parliament had issued an unfavourable opinion on the renewal of the latter’s mandate (see EUROPE 12866/22). (LC)
