11/01/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Parliament’s Committee on Budgetary Control decided, on Monday 10 January, to deliver an unfavourable opinion on the EU Council’s proposal to reappoint Marek Opiola of Poland as a member of the EU Court of Auditors. Seven members voted in favour of his appointment, while 23 voted against (no abstentions). Furthermore, the Parliament’s Committee on Budgetary Control recommended the renewal of the mandates of the Czech (Jan Gregor) and Latvian (Mihails Kozlovs) members. Finally, it gave a favourable opinion on the nomination of Kristijan Petrovič as Slovenian Member of the EU Court of Auditors (22 votes in favour and 8 against).
