27/01/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced on Thursday 27 January that EU Member States have agreed on a Commission proposal to invest €1.037 billion in five cross-border energy infrastructure projects: three electricity transmission projects, one gas storage project and a study on CO2 transport and storage networks,. Almost two thirds (657 million) of this funding from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) will go to the EuroAsia interconnection project to connect Cyprus to the European grid via Greece in order to end the island’s energy isolation.
