ESA prepares post-ISS era

13/12/2021 (Agence Europe)The European Space Agency (ESA) is preparing the post-International Space Station (ISS) era, for around 2030, with a view to ensuring Europe’s continued presence in the Low Earth orbit (LEO), reported the specialist website SpaceWatch on Monday 13 December. It is soliciting private companies in the framework of the SciHab (Science and Habitation) project, which plans to create an orbital human-tended platform with a modular design and open to commercial services. This programme is part of the Terrae Novea 2030+ strategic roadmap, which aims to develop European capabilities for human space transportation in the solar system. Companies can apply until the end of January 2022, with a complete concept to be submitted by the end of March, the website said. (PH)
