08/12/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 8 December, the European Commission decided to appoint Merete Clausen (Denmark) as Director of the ‘Investment’ Directorate and Jakub Boratyński (Poland) as Director of the ‘Networks and Governance’ Directorate in the Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW). Ms Clausen is currently Head of Unit in the Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs (DG ECFIN), where she is responsible for inter-institutional relations between the Commission and certain international financial institutions. Mr Boratyński is currently Head of Unit and Deputy to the Director of the ‘Digital Society, Trust and Cybersecurity’ Directorate in the Directorate-General for Communication Networks, Content and Technology (DG CNECT), where he is responsible for cybersecurity and digital privacy policy initiatives.
