22/10/2021 (Agence Europe) – The European Parliament will organise the second edition of the European Gender Equality Week from Monday 25 to Thursday 28 October (see EUROPE 12589/32). During these four days, parliamentary committees and delegations will organise sessions on gender equality issues in their policy areas (see EUROPE 12592/27). For example, the Delegation to the EU-Turkey Joint Parliamentary Committee will organise a discussion on Turkey’s withdrawal from the Istanbul Convention. A discussion on the draft Women on Boards Directive, which has been blocked for almost ten years in the Council of the EU (see EUROPE 12740/18), will also take place in the Committee on Legal Affairs. The Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality will also organise several events, including an additional event at the Conference on the Future of Europe.
