22/10/2021 (Agence Europe) – Slovenia has deposited its instrument of ratification for the Protocol on the Provisional Application of the Unified Patent Court (UPC) Agreement and for the UPC Agreement itself, the website of the future Court announced on Monday 18 October. As a result of Slovenia’s ratification, which took place on Friday 15 October, and the recent ratification by the German government (see EUROPE 12800/6), a final ratification is now required for the Court to enter the final phase of its establishment and trigger the period of provisional application. During this period of provisional application, the following will take place, in particular: the adoption of the secondary legislation and the Court’s first budget, the completion of the electronic case management system, including stress testing, the selection and appointment process of the judges of the Court.
