22/10/2021 (Agence Europe) – In Brussels on Friday 22 October, Marine Le Pen, leader of the French far-right party Rassemblement National (RN), gave assurances to the press that she was “working on the formation of a new group” within the European Parliament. Ms Le Pen, however, did not go into any further detail. “I can’t give you a time frame”, she said. This project was already outlined in the European Parliament last July (see EUROPE 12756/25). Sixteen national far-right parties signed a charter (see EUROPE 12754/3), which was presented on Friday by Ms Le Pen as “a step forward in our ability to unite in a common project”. In Brussels, the French MP – who is currently campaigning in the French presidential election – met bilaterally with the Polish and Slovenian Prime Ministers. (AC)
