22/09/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 21 September the European Commission launched a four-week public consultation on a draft implementing decision to classify a product containing the active substance ADBAC/BKC (C12-16) as a biocide. The Commission’s decision is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2021. The Sadolin Husrens product in question is available on the Danish market for use as a cleaning product and to control and prevent algal growth. In its draft decision, the Commission considers that this product containing the said active substance at a concentration of 2.4% is considered to be a biocidal product within the meaning of Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 concerning the placing on the market and use of biocidal products and falls within product-type 2 as defined in Annex V to that Regulation.
