22/09/2021 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced, on Wednesday 22 September, that it is mobilising €1 million to support preparatory studies for cross-border renewable energy projects under the ‘Connecting Europe Facility’ (CEF). The call for proposals aims to support EU Member States and private project promoters to “advance cooperation ideas” and thus “generate a pipeline of cross-border renewable projects”, the Commission said. By doing this, the institution hopes to overcome the obstacles that, in the past, have prevented cooperation projects from going ahead due to the uncertainty on the allocation of costs and benefits between involved Member States or due to the additional complexity of setting up cross-border support. The call for proposals is open until 30 November. To respond: https://bit.ly/3zz44vM (DG)
