European Commission proposes to limit cod and herring catches in Baltic in 2022

On Thursday 26 August, the European Commission adopted its proposals, some of them severe, on the total allowable catches (TACs) and quotas for 2022 in the Baltic waters.

The proposals are based on available peer-reviewed scientific advice from the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) and follow the Baltic multiannual management plan adopted in 2016.
