22/07/2021 (Agence Europe) – EU companies are still lagging behind in implementing digital technologies. This is according to the latest European Investment Bank (EIB) report on digitalisation in Europe, which reveals that, between 2020 and 2021, 63% of companies within the EU employed digital technologies, compared to 73% in the US. The figure drops to a mere 40% for companies with less than 50 employees. “We should be concerned about the slow pace of digitalisation of EU businesses. The gap between the EU and the US does not only jeopardise our long-term competitiveness. A weak European digital sector means that we will not own our data”, according to EIB Vice-President Ricardo Mourinho Félix. See the report: https://bit.ly/2UYl14l (TM)
