08/07/2021 (Agence Europe) – National competition authorities on Thursday 8 July called for greater integration with the forthcoming Digital Markets Act (DMA) (see EUROPE 12751/16). “We mobilised very strongly, in a position paper of all the national competition authorities, to say that in the current draft DMA, there was a missing link that was very problematic, that of coordination with competition investigations”, said the Chair of the French Competition Authority, Isabelle de Silva, during the presentation of the Authority’s 2020 report. Thus, the French Authority proposes in particular that national authorities should be able to intervene in certain investigations, so that the Commission is not “clogged with procedures”. (TM)
