08/07/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 8 July, the Commission adopted an equivalence decision in favour of Switzerland, which means that Covid certificates issued by Switzerland will now be considered equivalent to the EU’s Digital Covid Certificate. The decision will enter into force on 9 July, allowing Swiss travellers to travel in the EU with their certificate recognised as valid and under the same conditions as EU nationals. Switzerland is the first third country to receive this equivalence and will at the same time accept EU Digital Covid Certificates from travellers from the EU to Switzerland.
