05/07/2021 (Agence Europe) – The European Public Prosecutor’s Office and the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) have signed a working arrangement laying the foundations for their cooperation, as the two bodies announced in a statement on Monday 5 July. “This working arrangement allows us to clearly delineate our respective tasks and responsibilities, so as to work together in the most efficient manner with only one goal in mind: to better protect EU taxpayers’ money,” said the European Chief Prosecutor, Laura Kövesi. The working arrangement sets out, among other things, how the two bodies will exchange information and support each other in their respective investigations. It also provides for the possibility for OLAF to conduct further investigations if necessary, and for staff exchange programmes between the two bodies. The European Public Prosecutor’s Office has also concluded similar working arrangements with Eurojust (see EUROPE 12658/24) and Europol (see EUROPE 12641/35).
