Ten NGOs call on European Commission to increase EU’s 2030 renewable energy target

10/06/2021 (Agence Europe) – A group of ten NGOs sent a letter to the European Commission on Wednesday 9 June, calling on it to be more ambitious regarding the development by 2030 of renewable energy within the context of the revision of the EU Renewable Energy Directive (2018/2001) (RED II). “The EU 2030 renewable energy target also needs to increase in line with higher climate ambition, going far beyond the 40% indicated in the ‘EU 2030 Climate Target Plan’”, they wrote.
