12/05/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 12 May, Hungary became the fifteenth Member State to officially submit its National Recovery Plan to the European Commission under the Next Generation EU European Recovery Plan (see EUROPE 12717/20). The plan, which will only be funded by €7.2 billion in grants from the Recovery and Resilience Facility, addresses key policy areas such as green and digital transitions, health, research and modernising public administration, the EU institution notes in a statement. Eight Member States, including Hungary, have yet to ratify the decision on own resources for the EU budget, a necessary step before the Commission can raise money on the markets on behalf of the EU27.
