High-level conference involving the Council of the EU, the European Commission, Member States, social partners and civil society. - Implementation of the Action Plan for the European Pillar of Social Rights presented by the Commission in March 2021 (objectives: employment rate of at least 78% in the EU; participation of at least 60% of adults in training each year; reduction of the number of people at risk of social exclusion or poverty by at least 15 million, including 5 million children). - Discussion of various points proposed by, among others, the social partners.

Porto. Social Summit. Informal meeting of Heads of State or Government. Implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights (see above) at EU and national level on the basis of the Commission’s action plan; protection and improvement of the quality of jobs, support for young people particularly penalised by the pandemic crisis. - Revision of the Social Scoreboard in the framework of the ‘European Semester’. - Gender equality at work and the fight against wage inequalities.
Porto. European Council. EU/India Summit (video conference). Video conference at the summit between the Presidents of the European Council, Charles Michel, the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, for the EU, and the Indian Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. Topics on the agenda: - Covid-19: solidarity of the EU and its Member States with India and provision of medical supplies under the coordination of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism; building a more resilient global health system. - Climate and biodiversity: joint determination to protect our planet by promoting green growth, in line with the Paris Agreement. - Trade: strengthening the strategic partnership, facilitating bilateral trade and investment, reforming the WTO; strengthening connectivity and technology partnerships. - Foreign affairs and security: mutual interests in the Indo-Pacific region and promotion of human rights and a rules-based world order. - Adoption of a comprehensive joint statement.
