30/04/2021 (Agence Europe) – The euro area’s annual inflation is estimated to be at 1.6% in April 2021, up from 1.3% in March, according to a flash estimate published by the European Union’s statistical office (Eurostat) on Friday 30 April. The highest rates were observed in Luxembourg (3.3%), Lithuania (2.4%), Slovenia (2.2%), Finland and Germany (2.1% respectively). The lowest rates were recorded in Greece (-0.8%) and Portugal (-0.1%). In April, inflation was at 1.9% in Spain, 1.7% in France and 1.0% in Italy. Among the main components of euro area inflation, energy is expected to have the highest annual rate (10.3%), followed by services (0.9%), food, alcohol & tobacco (0.7%) and industrial goods excluding energy (0.5%).
