Level of ambition of Social Summit’s interim declaration is being debated in EU Council

Although united on the importance of social action in the face of the pandemic ahead of the Porto Social Summit, two major groups of Member States are reported to have emerged from the meeting of Member State Ambassadors to the EU on Friday 30 April regarding the level of ambition of the interim declaration for the EU Leaders’ Social Summit scheduled for 8 May.
