19/04/2021 (Agence Europe) – Despite recent progress, labour market participation “remains a challenge” for people with disabilities, according to the EU agency Eurofound, in a study published on Monday 19 April. This has been exacerbated by the pandemic and national measures to protect people with disabilities have had only “limited” effectiveness, according to the Agency. For Eurofound, there is a need for “appropriate” financial resources, but there is also a need for case-by-case measures, taking into account the individual’s disability in each case. There is also a need to improve the data available, broken down by disability, also to allow for comparative studies at EU level, the study says. Support measures must also help people with disabilities, regardless of their employment status, the study’s authors insist. To consult the study: https://bit.ly/3twLBhx (PH)
