29/03/2021 (Agence Europe) – According to the German newspaper Die Welt, the European Commission is preparing to target 13 third countries deemed uncooperative for the return and readmission of illegal immigrants and to use the instrument of visa policy against them, as suggested on 13 March by European Commissioner Ylva Johansson (see EUROPE 12677/1). The Commission is said to be ready to enter into dialogue with these 13 countries: Iraq, Iran, Libya, Senegal, Somalia, Mali, Gambia, Cameroon, Republic of Congo, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia and Guinea-Bissau, but would not disclose the list of these countries targeted by eventual restrictions.
