It is time for EU Member States to finally meet the objectives of the Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EC), which were to be achieved by 2015, says the European Parliament.
In a resolution adopted by an overwhelming majority (622 votes in favour, 23 against) on Thursday 17 October, it calls for all surface and groundwater in the EU to achieve no later than 2027 the good condition required by this legislation.
