08/12/2020 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced, on Tuesday 8 December, that it had extended the validity of several EU State Aid rules applicable to the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sectors for two years. These rules were due to expire at the end of 2020. The EU Guidelines for State Aid in the agriculture and forestry sectors, the Block Exemption Regulations for State Aid in the agriculture, forestry, fisheries and aquaculture sectors and the Regulation on de minimis aid for fishery and aquaculture are thus extended until 31 December 2022. The design of future State Aid rules will largely depend on the outcome of the ongoing reform of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP). (LC)
