08/12/2020 (Agence Europe) – The German, British and French governments expressed concern on Monday 7 December about Iran’s latest decisions on its nuclear programme. Tehran announced its intention to install three new cascades of advanced centrifuges at the uranium enrichment plant in Natanz, which is “contrary to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)”, according to the E3. In addition, the Iranian parliament has passed a law that, if implemented, “would substantially expand Iran’s nuclear programme and limit IAEA monitoring access”, the three governments said in a statement. They consider these measures to be “incompatible” with the JCPOA and Iran’s other nuclear commitments. “Such a move (...) risks compromising the important opportunity for a return to diplomacy with the incoming US Administration”, the Europeans warn.
