08/12/2020 (Agence Europe) – Contrary to their initial plans, representatives of the European Parliament, the EU Council and the Commission did not reach an agreement on the Erasmus programme on the evening of 7 December. A new negotiating meeting, which this time should be conclusive, has been rescheduled for Friday 11 December. According to our information, the discussions have stumbled over legal-linguistic subtleties. Another source spoke of technical details, the end date of the programme, retroactivity and the precise calculation of the budget breakdown. As each institution has obtained concessions on the different “layers” of the programme, it is therefore necessary to verify that 100% of the total budgetary allocation for the programme is indeed reached.
