23/11/2020 (Agence Europe) – Vice-President of the European Commission Maroš Šefčovič welcomed the progress made by the European Raw Materials Alliance (see EUROPE 12570/3) at a meeting of the Alliance held on Monday 23 November, in particular the progress achieved by the investment platform. According to the Vice-President, 23 investment dossiers have thus already been processed in more than 14 European countries amounting to €7.5 billion, covering rare earths/magnets (€1.6 billion), raw materials for energy storage and conversion (€4.4 billion) and others (€1.5 billion). The Vice-President is expected to make an announcement on this subject on Tuesday 24 November, together with the German Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, Peter Altmaier, and his French counterpart, Bruno Le Maire.
