26/10/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 23 October, Josep Borrell, the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and Mike Pompeo, the US Secretary of State, launched a new bilateral dialogue between the European External Action Service (EEAS) and the US Department of State on China. According to a joint press release issued by the two bodies, Borrell and Pompeo agreed to continue meetings “at the senior official and expert levels on themes including human rights, security, and multilateralism”. The next high-level meeting between the Deputy Secretary of State and European External Action Service Secretary General will be held in mid-November 2020. In their telephone conversation, Borrell and Pompeo also discussed Belarus and Nagorno-Karabakh. (CG)
