21/10/2020 (Agence Europe) – The NGO Oxfam gave a warning on Wednesday 21 October about the situation of migrants in Lesbos and in the Kara Tepe centre, set up after the fire in Moria camp, where nearly 8,000 people find themselves in tents “not fit for winter” or bad weather. The new camp is worse than Moria ever was, the NGO says. “Some of the tents are just 20 metres from the sea and have no protection against the weather. Food is only provided once or twice per day, and according to residents, there is not enough, and it is of bad quality. There is hardly any running water, so many people wash themselves in the sea”. The NGO also points out that “people have only limited access to healthcare” and that “measures against Covid-19 are insufficient”. (SP)
