21/10/2020 (Agence Europe) – The European Parliament confirmed its position on digital services (see EUROPE 12585/3) late in the evening of Tuesday 20 October. The final votes, which followed those on the amendments in the afternoon, demonstrated Parliament’s broad support for the three reports. The own-initiative resolution by Alex Agius Saliba (S&D, Malta) was adopted by 571 votes in favour, 26 against and 94 abstentions. The resolution by Tiemo Wölken (S&D, Germany) was adopted by 637 votes in favour, 26 against and 28 abstentions. Finally, the non-legislative own-initiative resolution by Kris Peeters (EPP, Belgium) was approved with 566 votes in favour, 45 against and 80 abstentions. (SPj)
