19/10/2020 (Agence Europe) – Portugal's Rodrigo da Costa took up his duties as Executive Director of the European GNSS Agency (GSA) on Friday 16 October. The only candidate presented by the European Commission, he was elected to the GSA Administrative Board in September (see EUROPE 12560/17). On 12 October, Mr da Costa appeared before the European Parliament's Committee on Industry and Research (ITRE), where he had an exchange of views with the MEPs. He will be responsible for the successful conversion of the GSA into a new EU Space Programme Agency, with tasks extended to Copernicus and GovSatCom. (PH)
