19/06/2020 (Agence Europe) – The Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) adopted on Friday 19 June, by 25 votes to 2, with 7 abstentions, a resolution submitted by France, Germany and the United Kingdom, reminding Iran of its obligations in terms of cooperation with the IAEA. Since January, Tehran has been denying the Agency access to two nuclear sites and has not responded to questions from the Agency about possible undeclared nuclear material and activities. The adoption of this text shows the first cracks in the unity of the five countries party to the 2015 nuclear agreement with Iran, with China and Russia voting against the resolution. At the same time, the French, German and British Foreign Ministers held a meeting in Berlin on the European strategy for the coming months on Iran.
