29/05/2020 (Agence Europe) – The Croatian Presidency of the EU Council intends to convene another meeting of representatives of the EU Council and European Parliament by the end of its term on 30 June on the revision of the Regulation on rail passengers’ rights and obligations (1371/2007), according to an EU source. Reaching provisional agreement on this dossier was one of Zagreb’s priorities (see EUROPE 12408/21). Two sessions of interinstitutional negotiations have taken place since January, but no significant progress has been made (see EUROPE 12429/14) and the thorniest points (see EUROPE 12398/8) have not been addressed. At the end of February, the Croatian Presidency put forward a compromise proposal on reserved bicycle spaces (see EUROPE 12434/8), and discussions were scheduled to continue on 18 March. However, the Covid-19 pandemic forced institutions to put the file on hold. (AC)
