28/04/2020 (Agence Europe) – According to a new study by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) released on Monday 27 April, the Covid-19 pandemic is really hampering the work of audit firms, which require direct interaction with the audited entity. Despite digital advances, for many companies the crisis has created a systemic shock to normal customer engagement activities, the ACCA explains. A significant 53% of the professionals surveyed reported difficulties in carrying out their client services work and a quarter reported difficulties in gathering audit evidence. Over a third (36%) also reported being unable to meet the reporting deadlines. This has been recognised as a particular difficulty, as many jurisdictions have decided to flex these deadlines in response to the crisis. To read the study: https://bit.ly/3cMwqYG (MF)
