09/04/2020 (Agence Europe) – 45 MEPs from across the political spectrum sent a letter on Wednesday 8 April to European Council President Charles Michel and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen calling for guidelines and targeted actions to cover carers and relatives of people with disabilities to be included in the new provisions in cohesion policy to combat COVID-19 (CRII and CRII+) (see EUROPE 12446/2 and 12460/3). In particular, MEPs are concerned about the closure of “thousands” of care and support services across Europe for people with disabilities, denounced by many NGOs (see EUROPE 12458/16).
