European Heritage Label awarded to 10 new sites

31/03/2020 (Agence Europe)On Tuesday 31 March, the European Commission awarded the European Heritage Label to 10 sites that have played an important role in the history and culture of Europe and/or in the construction of the European Union. This is the archaeological area of Ostia Antica (Italy), the Underwater Cultural Heritage of the Azores (Portugal), the Living Heritage of Szentendre (Hungary), the Colonies de Bienveillance (Belgium and the Netherlands), Kynžvart Castle - a place for diplomatic meetings, Lázně Kynžvart (Czech Republic), the “Zdravljica” - the Message of the European Spring of Nations, Ljubliana (Slovenia), the Łambinowice Commemoration site (Poland), the “Werkbund Estates in Europe” (Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria), the Lieu de mémoire in Chambon-sur-Lignon (France) and the “Three Brothers”, Rīga (Latvia). These ten new nominations bring the total number of sites holding the European Heritage Label to 48.
